MARION COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY

Marion County Humane Society is a "shelterless" humane society  ran by a great group of animal loving volunteers & fosters. Since MCHS has no formal facility to house the dogs/puppies, cats/kittens and horses, we are a collaboration between a group of seasoned and reputable men and  women in Marion County, Alabama along with some very dedicated out of state supporters. 

 

The Humane Society of the United States estimates that animal shelters care for 6-8 million cats & dogs every year in the United States, of which 3-4 million are euthanized due to lack of space, resources, and adoptive homes.

 

We work extremely hard to match the every one of our dogs with the best family/person when possible, therefore we are very flexible in our adoption process. We want everyone to make a life-time commitment to these dogs and are aware that it is extremely hard to do at times so we have implemented the "foster to adopt program." This prgram allows the interested party/parties to take the pet into their home for a designated period of time, to make sure that the pet they have chosen is the right match for their family.   Our adoption/foster director makes a point to call every single potential adopter to learn more about their lifestyle, needs, requirements, and interests in finding their next pet. We believe that open and honest conversation is best when finding your next companion and making the best match for your family.
